Moorish rule in Spain was effectively limited to the Kingdom of Granada from around 1250. The Kingdom of Granada included the cities of Almeria and Malaga, as well as Granada itself. Malaga fell in 1487 and Almeria shortly afterwards, but the Moorish ruler Boabdil refused to surrender Granada – holding out until 1492.
